Wandering around http://www.boneville.com/ (I joined the forum as *GASP* fone bone! :D) and I'm reading about the fight Dave Sim had with Jeff Smith over Sim's misogyny and how he publicly wrote in Cerebus how Jeff secretly agreed with his "anti-feminism" and just didn't feel like admitting it in front of his wife.

Apparantly Sim actually believes this nuttery. It's both sad and really REALLY funny at the same time.

I had always wanted to read Cerebus a few years ago ESPECIALLY after the crossover it had with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Renet but now I am totally glad I didn't. It's my understanding that the first half of the story was brilliant but by the end his craziness had crossed over to the story. And MAN at 300 issues it's a LOOOONG story so if you got sick of it when it started getting crazy you STILL owned like 200 issues of the thing.

And Jeff Smith would have totally won that boxing match. He has Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, Smiley Bone, Thorn, Gran'ma Ben, the Great Red Dragon and Ted the Bug on his side.

In any case, Tangent's kinda long, I'll read it later. From what I've read, Cerebus is pretty respected. A complete story in 300 issues, interesting.

Yeah, I couldn't actually read the whole thing, it's so crazy. I think Cerebus USED to be respected but now people think it's bat poopy insane like Sim is.
