Chris, Merlin Missy and Micheal, when you order these packs post here how it went so I can stop doing these annoying updates! :P

Let me now repost my Matty fact sheet.

Static/Aquagirl/Micron 3-Pack on sale at Mattycollector on Wed 8/15/12 at 12:00 PM EST

This three pack is $30 plus shipping. Shipping and tax together usually run me at about $11 although the sales tax may vary by state (I live in Massaschusetts where sales taxes are pretty high). Shipping prices on Matty are ridiculously high so be prepared for that. Look to spend about $41 total.

Using the Matty site can be a nightmare so I'll help you through it as we get closer to the date. The good news is that the Mongul pack took a week or so to sell out so it's likely that you will not need to have to buy it during the noon rush on the day of release. But if you want to be absolutely sure here is what you should expect at noon on the 15th.

What is the White Screen Of Death?

When the Matty site is busy a white screen will pop up that will refresh itself every five seconds. They encourage you not to refresh the page yourself or you will somehow be put back at the end of the queue but I personally have doubts if that's true. If the WSOD lasts longer than 15 minutes refresh your page anyways. For the record, in recent months the WSOD has gotten MUCH better and is sometimes non-existant. You may not have a problem at all with it but if you do I'm just telling you what to expect.

Why are there those little unreadable number code things that you have to punch in at the checkout?

Because Digital River sucks. Seriously though. Matty's version of those things are practically unreadable so it may take a few tries to get it right. I would suggest refreshing the code until you find one that is almost readable. It lets you do that. Also, be sure to check off the box that says "I agree to the terms and conditions" or your order won't go through.

Should I set up an account beforehand?

Probably a good idea but it's not necessary these days due to the traffic not being as terrible as it used to be. Still, I would do it. You'll need to put something in your shopping cart to set up an account (I know, it's stupid) but you can remove it once your account is set up (and make sure you do. Dealing with Digital River over the phone is a VERY unpleasant experience due to their absolute incompetence). The traffic is no longer so bad that you'll have trouble signing in on the day of the sale anymore so I wouldn't worry about that. You just may get a brief WSOD. Matty only accepts credits cards, not debit cards, VISA gift cards, checks, money orders or PayPal. If you don't have a credit card you'll need to set something up with a friend or relative who does.

What if nothing happens if I press the place order button?

Wait for a while before doing anything. Check your email for an order confirmation before deciding whether or not to go through the process again. If you are impatient and click the "place order" button more than once you might end up with two figures charged to your credit card. If this happens you can call the number listed on the website and cancel one of the orders. Due to Digital River's incompetence this may be a hassle and a headache so just be patient to make sure to avoid it.

Anything else I should have handy?

Headache medicine cannot hurt.

Did you wind up getting one set or two?

Just one. Although I did some searching around the 'net and should've bought three and tried to sell the third one to recoup my losses.

Well, they're still there at this minute but they're labed "Almost gone" so if you DO go that route you'll need to act fast. But for me personally, I can't do something like that because they are so expensive. I can barely afford to get one set let alone three. Even if I was able to eventually sell one of them for a huge price on eBay in a year recouping my investment and then some, $30 each plus shipping is too much for me to spend at one time.

If you have the money though, I'd recommend it. You only have a short window before they are all sold out.

I came to my better senses that tell me I don't have the money and, well...didn't place another order.

That's probably for the best.

Aw...I did not get the pack. I've neglected to check LJ. Been busy with...everything. And on top, car and house repairs I did myself. Couldn't have ordered the pack that day anyway - my budget is shot until insurance stops playing games and pays me.

Close to $60 total on ebay today.

Sorry about not replying to past posts, Matt.

That's too bad. It sold out on Matty already. Sorry about that for you. :(

Yeah, oh well. Sooner or later, I'll scoop up a pack on eBay. I appreciate all the posts you made about buying from Mattel.

Try Big Bad Toy Store before eBay.

It's more expensive than Mattel ($48.99) but it's less of a hassle and they won't charge as much for shipping. Here is the link.

For the record, the Mongul pack (which was sold last month) is still there which probably means you can wait to save up enough money to go this route. Let me know when you get the pack whether it's in this post or an unrelated one.

Thanks for the advice and link, Matt. Wish I had the money, I almost feel like pawning something.

Still, it's too bad they never did a figure for Green Lantern Beyond or did they?

Never did a Kai-Ro, no.

Bummer. Do you know if Mattel ever gave a reason why not?

Because the line ended before they got around to him. They probably would have gotten to him had the line lasted another year or two.

They could of way before, imo. There was a 3 pack with Batman Beyond, old Bruce, and Warhawk. Should have put GL instead of Batman since there was already a single of him out.

But as you say if they did get around to him, they could have done another 3 pack - GL and (designs made up for the toy line) of Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter since in that Static Shock episode "Future Shock" it was inferred they were still active heroes.

The three pack came about a year before the single so the Batman Beyond figure was brand new. Besides it's REALLY rare when we get three new figures in a pack so I'm not complaining.

If they were gonna do another JLU Beyond pack (assuming they did three new figures which is a stretch) I'd pick Kai-Ro, Bikini Barda, and Zeta instead.
