Finally back to art.

Three pages today. A fully colored and inked cover, a dedication page (which I essentially just printed out in Twin Peaks font), and the first page. Gilda And Meek "Enter Tork" Special Edition should not take very long to complete.
How is the cover? I think the characters and their movements are fantastic, but the action of the portal sucks ass. I'd probably redo it if I didn't like the character art so much. Who am I kidding? I still might. But that's one of my best drawings of Vic Puff ever.

Date: 2025-04-08 05:45 pm (UTC)I'm back to art, too. Yesterday I penciled the very first page of the First Act of Chapter XI in Curse of Creation: Lil' Hero Artists, Vol. 3, along with the two pages of the Third Act penciled two weeks ago. Since I completed and edited the script a while back, I'm choosing to illustrate the page I feel most compelled to illustrate, even if they're not done in order.
I'm taking this approach because at no point should this project feel like there has to be a "standard way" to getting it done. For a long time I used to do everything in a certain order when it comes to drawing the pages, but it felt more stifling than rewarding. I'm not getting paid to do my comics, and I'm not trying to "compete with the big boys" either, so why be so strict to myself on how to complete my projects? To whom am I trying to prove anything? The fun of creating is the only goal here, as it has been for nearly a decade at this.
Truth be told, I did a bit of this with Sneakers #13, and I wound up feeling much better with the end result. And like I said before; in a time where the world is at war with itself -- a REAL "world on fire", if you will -- creativity and the joy it brings are vitally important. ✊🏾
