I am not entirely sold on the cover. My tendency in colored pencils is to thread lightly, but it's the David Lynch issue, so I will probably take a second pass to deepen the colors.
As for the first full page of art?
I am 100% happy with it! Speaking as something who dislikes his own art, it's everything I wanted.
That prep work is something you may have found annoying. But not only was it necessary, but it's gonna make the issue look fabulous. Which is good, because since it's the Twin Peaks issue, the plot will make no sense.
Candice is gonna go absolutely bananas.
I estimate I have 20 - 25 pages left. I'll let you know how many I did at the end of the night so you can get a feel for how long it will take (per drawing jag).
