Also a review for the latest episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Batten Down The Hatches"

Good cliffhanger. Very well timed.

Darius' stunt with trapping the huge dinosaur was pretty amazing. Dude is useful.

Speaking of which, Kenji has gone nuts. Guy has a Deathwish.

Very solid premiere. ****.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "The Marooned Five"

Not sure why Ben isn't coming clean about Brooklyn at the end. The problem is there really isn't a reason for him not to. Feels like bad writing.

I was annoyed Darius and friends didn't bother listening to the farmers. They think they know everything about dinosaurs.

It's interesting to learn that as a rule, dinosaurs mostly haven't traveled to other continents and until now were pretty much just a North America thing.

Pretty good, I think, but I was annoyed in places. ***.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "C13v3rGr186"

That was great. I think what I liked best about it is it explained everything to my satisfaction, even stuff that seemed a bit of a stretch last season. Good trick.

The last scene being Ronnie with the fixed toaster oven was a very nice bit of writing. Camp Cretaceous never did writing that subtle and good.

I take note that despite what Darius said last season, Brooklyn did NOT outright reject him. She actually was just surprised and didn't know what to think. And the timing was definitely sucky.

I like the episode portraying the loss of the arm as the trauma and handicap it is. It's frustrating, and upsetting, and a loss. And I like the show actually portrays it that way.

One of my favorite episodes so far. *****.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "The Adjustment"

On some level it's impressive Brooklyn was able to keep her cover in the DLN because of crocodile tears. But she was only able to do that because Earnest is an idiot. And I'm thinking he probably shouldn't be. While we are judging the virtues and faults of the series fairly. ***.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Troubled Waters"

Piece of advice, Brooklyn. A total stranger tells you they simply MUST paint you, that's the red flag. Run.

The look of worry Darius and Yaz gave Kenji after the flare gun stunt says I'm not the only person who thinks he's gone nuts.

Good cliffhanger too. ****.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Up The River"

It was all right but I think a little too much is happening at once. ***.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "All Night Long"

I can see why Yaz REALLY doesn't like dinosaurs.

Pretty nightmarish stuff. Which is not something I really respond to. Also, since they are going back for Yaz, the arc is actually going backwards too, which is wrong for this stage of the game.

Darius is an idiot. Not only was he trying to comfort Zayna using completely cringe and stupid analogies. But the moral is self-evident and the kid already knows it.

Too scary for me. **1/2.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Lab Partners: Part 1"

That blind dinosaur is freaky.

That is not a happy ending. Melodrama played to the hilt. Kenji is pissed. ****.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Lab Partners: Part 2"

Concurrent episodes are always a risk. I find they tend to work better at the beginning of a season than at the end. This was all right (and we got closure on Darius' predicament) but I'm not sure spending the penultimate episode going over the same ground from a different perspective was the way to go.

Brooklyn not liking the way Ben was looking at her arm was a very realistic moment. I liked it. ***1/2.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory "Reunion"

Okay, Santos was Dichen Lachman from Dominion.

I have to say, Brooklyn going off with her at the end didn't make too much logical sense. She's trying to stop Santos. I honestly think she'd have a better shot with Camp Fam by her side.

Brooklyn giving them Bumpy's egg and claiming they won't bother Santos anymore WAS a pretty cunning tactic though.

Very unsatisfying ending, which pisses me off more than a little bit. I'm tired of cartoons ending on cliffhangers. If this show is canceled after that I'll be furious. ***.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit "Divide And Conquer"

I was frustrated with the husband James. I understand his fear, and in fact with a bullet in his knee, I even understand him selling out his wife in that moment of torture. What bothers me is this whole trauma is mostly due to how it will effect him and his supposed manliness. I like that he admitted he froze, but he's more concerned with HIS reaction than how his wife is doing. She was the one who was violated. He's turning it into about his own failings instead of what happened to her.

I guess that makes it an appropriate episode title. But it was kind of frustrating too. ***.
