Best choice. Safest choice. Excites progressives and pisses nobody off.

Prediction: Dude will be in the Biden mold and a gaffe-machine. But a FUN gaffe machine. He’ll say something like “Trump wants to fuck his own daughter”, the media will go on a three day outrage tour while voters will be like “Wait, Trump actually SAID all these things about Ivanka? How weird.”

Ahem.

YES! YES! YEEESSS!

That's great!

...

And yeah, news media, Trump DID say that about Ivanka. Y'all chose to ignore that for... a LONG time. When news pundits are more concerned about elevating a racist/misogynistic "pop culture icon" because it's "good news reporting", it's easy for the dim-witted masses to fall into the trap.

I know the "Kamala is anti-Israel!" rants are coming... and I don't care. The news media seems to have chosen to let Trump off the hook for his fawning over those assholes who terrorized Charlottesville and his buddying up with Nick Fuentes -- who, by the way, now also denied that Oct. 7 happened. Netanyahu is fucking desperate for visiting Mar-a-Lago recently; I KNOW he knows Trump could give a rat's ass about Jews, but right now it's all about "what works in the current moment" for him.

True. But here's another plus for Tim Walz: the George Floyd protests. Trump and the Cult of the 45th had brutally chastised Walz for not "mobilizing the National Guard quickly enough" to pacify the protests. Yeah, sure -- Walz was the bad guy, not the asswipe who tweeted "When the looting starts, the shooting starts!" and stood for a Christian Nationalist photo op while peaceful and unarmed Black protesters nationwide were being brutalized; recently here in San Francisco, a street was named after a Hispanic teenager who was shot and killed by cops during the George Floyd outrage protests in the city.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not a "defund the police" person. We do need law officers to maintain order. But we also need REFORM. And since 2020, the surge in police brutality has been TRAUMATIZING. Tyre Nichols, Ryan Gainer, and Sonya Massey were some the WORST abuses of state-sanctioned police murder I have EVER had the misfortune to witness. Gainer and Massey's murders hit me the hardest because they were each fueled by the stigma towards young Black Americans with mental illness, the idea that Black person are even more savage and dangerous if they show any signs of "mental retardation". And as I've said before, I was deemed as such by a White bar doorman in San Francisco in front of two of my best friends AND a crowd of bystanders, even though the guy knows all three of us fairly well. I don't know if I'll ever be able to move past that searing humiliation.

Tim Walz's outstanding successes towards better gun control, his open passion for actually PROTECTING American children, and his staunch support for healthcare affordablity and accessibility are BIG pluses. And there hasn't been a real outrage over his selection as the VP.

Democrats are calling out the antisemitism in BOTH parties, and asking for everyone to do the same. But they are also calling for the Israel stuff not to be politicized for the purposes of bigoted violence, and they seem to be implying that it's the leadership in Israel who are the REAL monsters, not Jewish-Americans and Palestinian-Americans.

I like that; Republicans have always focused on turning the masses against each other while they do their evil work through the distractions. If a governing body is the real problem, then I think EVERY effort should be focused on that governing body. People who want change from the higher-ups but feel it's too hard to organize and face them head-on and decide to just beat up or kill lower people to vent their frustrations and hate does nothing for the REAL ISSUES AT HAND.

That's why "Stop hating each other because you disagree!" is such a simple yet powerful slogan to me these days.

Hah! Yeah, I feel like this was a good, safe call. :-)
I look forward to their debates. I think it's early September...
