This one hits me hard. Pee-Wee Herman was my everything as a kid. Him, Ed Grimley and Mighty Mouse MADE Saturday Mornings for me in 1987-1988.

I will never forget how Gilbert Gottfried defended him after his first arrest. Another one we lost too soon.

I was pretty shocked to learn that he passed away as well. Strangely enough the day before he passed my mom, dad and nephew watched the movie where he had his bike stolen. He was a pretty good actor and my parents always liked him. I think he will be greatly missed.

Very saddening...

Thought I'd spare a few words as well. This was my response to your comment on Lil' Hero Artists on Comic Fury:

"I saw your post on Dreamwidth yesterday about Paul Reubens. I don't remember too much about Pee-Wee Herman's Playhouse back then, but yesterday I watched an episode of his show with some students in a class at my job. The positivity and unbridled joy the character radiated (and his signature laugh) undeniably touched so many souls. I am deeply sorry about his passing. It seems that a lot of trailblazers in the "make a world a better place" crowd have fallen this year. =("
