Okay, I got around to opening up all of my BTAS packages. I had been dreading it, because it takes forever, and they were starting to pile up. But tonight I had some free time, and opened up Batman and Phantasm, Roxy Rocket, Killer Croc and Baby Doll, Jervis Tetch: The Mad Hatter, Batgirl, TNBA Robin, BTAS Batman, The Riddler, The Penguin, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and The Batmobile. I saved all of the packages, as I like keeping the figures in the plastic trays because they are so delicate. But here are my initial thoughts.

Poison Ivy: Do not like the way she is packaged. Her arms are forced into a weird angle, and I'm afraid they'll break in the future. I take comfort in the fact that I've had the package already for a few months, and that didn't happen, but that's still a concern for me.

Batgirl: The single best Batgirl figure I own, and the single best representation of the DCAU version ever. As a poster suggested, I was very careful opening the tiny accessories, and got them all into a plastic baggie safely without losing any of them.

TNBA Robin: His cape makes him VERY hard to take out of the package and also very hard to return to the plastic sleeve. The hole in the plastic sleeve should have been bigger like it was for Batman and Phantasm.

Batman And Phantasm: Still bummed that you can't reveal Andrea Beaumont underneath the hood, but as someone else said, that just means there's another character to make in the future. I am upset about the Batman rerelease though, as I had already gotten the BTAS version. I also had issues getting the wide capes out of the plastic sleeves, but the toymakers were smart enough to make the holes big enough to navigate it without tearing the plastic capes themselves.

BTAS Batman: If I had known the Phantasm would have come with an exact release of this, I would have passed on it months ago. That said, it comes with some accessories the Phantasm one doesn't, including more extra hands and a grappling hook. But I wouldn't have paid $25 for those if I had a choice.

Jervis Tetch: The Mad Hatter: While this IS the best DCAU Mad Hatter figure we've ever gotten, we've only gotten one before. Batgirl had a LOT more train wrecks to fix.

Harley Quinn: Underwhelming. Yeah, she looks like she does on the show, but the BTAS design is underwhelming in general. I prefer JLU's TNBA version.

The Penguin: I'm worried about the open umbrella's handle snapping off. I was very careful to place it in a spacious part of the plastic baggie. The Penguin figure himself is flawless.

Killer Croc And Baby Doll: I think Baby Doll's joints are a little too loose, but her along with Roxy Rocket are the first new DCAU characters I've gotten figures for since JLU ended. I love her and I'll be careful.

Roxy Rocket: Love the figure. The Rocket? A total disappointment, especially considering how all out they went with the lights on the Batmobile. I had to search everywhere for a proper watch sized battery since it is labeled under a name stores do not sell that battery under. I actually had to go to a battery store for a guy to know what I was talking about. And just the tail lights up red. All that trouble for nothing. I got the batteries in correctly on the first try though. Hooray for small victories. Especially because they fit so snugly they'll probably be near impossible to remove if I need to change them.

The Batmobile: I love my light-up Playmates Enterprise from the 2008 Star Trek movie, and the 2011 ThunderCats Thundertank with Snarf still rules (even if it falls apart too easily), and my entire Richard Scarry's Busytown giant playset you can make with all of them connected together is the most ambitious toy set I've ever owned. But I have to say, I think the Batmobile tops them all, and is the current best toy I own. The lights are amazing, and I love that there is enough detail that they included (cloth!) seatbelts that hook and unhook. Plus, it's just the one piece, so there's nothing to get lost. I didn't try to put any figures in it, because I didn't want to risk them breaking, but the Batmobile is the sturdy BTAS toy the figures are not. It's going to stand up for a long time. They put a lot of care and effort into making it sturdy and functional. My one real complaint is that the top of the car doesn't seem to want to stay closed on its own, but that's my only REAL gripe. I also kind of wish that you could light it up by pressing a button instead of turning a switch on the bottom of the toy. It is flawless otherwise.

What a way to spend four hours.
