Spider-Man 4 has been canceled.

A Spider-Man reboot? I HATE reboots and am sick of Hollywood shoving them down my throat when the original franchises are still viable. I have little interest in seeing this movie without Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire. This doesn't grate as much as the Buffy reboot but I don't see this being anywhere near as successful as the first three movies (this has Superman Returns written all over it).
The worst part is that I'm really bummed that the Raimi continuity now has to go out on Spider-Man 3 which was the weakest (and darkest) of the movies. I was hoping they could make up for it but that particular continuity will always be tarnished now.
Only reboots I've liked were Batman Begins (although that's only because of The Dark Knight) and Star Trek (which was barely a reboot because it IS canon with the original continuity and respectfully included Leonard Nimoy) . The Incredible Hulk sucked and I have no interest in the new James Bond. I'm sick of this.
