This could be a disaster (ESPECIALLY since it's for Fox). It sounds like it won't be in continuity with either Doctor Who or the original series so I'm probably not interested. And I don't mind the idea of a toned down Torchwood but if they are going to downplay Captain Jack's bi-sexuality (which is almost certain) it will be a HUGE backstep for gay characters in science fiction.

Frankly, I don't think this will ever come to pass. The compromises Russell T Davies would have to make to bring the show to U.S. airwaves sound very unlikely. This has Red Dwarf USA written all over it.

I've always thought Jay Leno was a no-talent hack but even I never thought he would single-handedly destroy a major television network.

I never really blamed him for what happened to David Letterman, as most people at the time blamed his manager Helen Kushnik for pushing Johnny Carson off the air and screwing Letterman over. But this is becoming a serious pattern with him. Despite what the apologists at Saturday Night Live might think Conan O'Brien was only approached to take over for Jay after he had announced in 2003 that he planned to retire. It's not Conan's fault he changed his mind and it's clear that Jay only looks out for Jay and doesn't care what happens to the hundreds of people who were laid off, not only from Conan's show but from five hours of network dramas that were taken up with his twaddle.

NBC deserves an equal amount of scorn. When it became clear Leno's new show was tanking they should have simply canceled it. It was completely unfair and disrespectful what they did to Conan who put in 17 hard years at the network. I understand that they wanted to keep all three (or four if you count Carson Daly) late night hosts but in the real world you can't hold on to that many big names for too long and you really shouldn't try to.

About the only good thing to come out of this situation is David Letterman is number one in the ratings again and Craig Ferguson is starting to get a loyal following. Dave is the best late night host since Johnny Carson retired and it's nice that the master showman is finally getting some respect after that walking, unfunny joke Leno screwed him out of his rightful place on The Tonight Show.

Also reviews for the latest episodes of The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons 20th Annverisary Special, Heroes, Dollhouse, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Red Dwarf III, and Red Dwarf IV. I'd advise staying away from the Dollhouse review (it's last) until you are caught up.
