Christmas update.
Jan. 6th, 2010 07:47 pmLife in general update (I haven't done one of these in a while). It's mostly been reviews and annoying political posts from me this past year. The New Year seems like a good time to let everyone know how I'm doing.
I'm a bit depressed, to tell you the truth. I've had some new expenses that will be coming my way that will set me back sixty dollars a month and I've been trying to process how I'm going to accommodate my budget. I don't want to give up DVDs or plushies so it's a pretty sure bet air conditioning is out this summer.
I wanted to thank Sailor Chibi Otaku/ Miss Carlos (I can't spell her LJ name) for the kind gift she gave me of going in part way to a paid LJ account. I'm not sure if I'm going to do it (money IS pretty tight) but I think it was a pretty awesome thing for her to do. So thank you, in advance in case I do it and if I decide not to please don't be offended.
What else did I get for Christmas? Melissa got me Alvin and the Chipmunks from Build-A-Bear Workshop (Alvin, Simon, Theodore and Brittany (?)). My dad got me the DVD Farscape: The Complete Series (the Best Buy Exclusive that includes The Peacekeeper Wars). My sister got me an Amazon gift certificate so I bought Star Trek Season One Remastered (it hasn't arrived yet.), my mom got me six plushies from The Disney Store (Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog, Frog Tiana and Frog Naveen, Chip and Dale, and a talking Dug from Up). She also got me the movies Muppet Treasure Island, The Secret of NIMH, and Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland). I wanted the first two movies on DVD but Little Nemo looks interesting too (even if I haven't got around to watching it).
The Bridge (the place where Melissa works) got me five plushies too. I got a big teddy bear wearing a scarf, a really neat Cat In The Hat (Dr. Suess), a little bear wearing a firefighter's uniform, a little puppy dog in a winter hat and coat and a stuffed monkey which I gratefully named "The I Like Monkeys Monkey" in honor of Sailor Chibi Otaku/ Miss Carlos/ Shannon. Very cute.
My seven year old niece is SUCH a rascal. She's actually bordering on being out of control. I think it's probably a phase of some sort but she's been acting this way for a couple of years now. Her having a baby sister to push around probably doesn't help.
I've been dealing with my depression by watching my complete series set of Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures which I got on Tuesday. It's helping some but I noticed an edit in "Mighty's Wedlock Whimsy" that I am not happy about so it's been a mixed bag. Other than that the set is perfect.
I'll have a review on my journal for it soon along with reviews for Wizards, Cool World, J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings (The Ralph Bakshi cartoon version) and Fire and Ice. Other upcoming reviews include Red Dwarf II, Red Dwarf III, Red Dwarf IV, Red Dwarf V, Red Dwarf VI, Red Dwarf VII, Red Dwarf VIII, Star Trek Season One Remastered, Star Trek: The Next Generation Season Six, Star Trek: The Next Generation Season Seven, Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek Insurrection, Star Trek: Nemesis, Farscape Season One, Farscape Season Two, Farscape Season Three, Farscape Season Four and The Farscape Archives (including The Peacekeeper Wars). Transformers Season One is complete but it looks like there may be another delay in putting it on my journal.
I hope you all had a Happy Christmas or Hannukah (depending on what you're celebrating) and you are all in my thoughts. I hope your New Year is full of good stuff.
