Holy poop! I am thoroughly impressed. DuckTales, Chip 'N' Dale's Rescue Rangers and even Darkwing Duck don't hold up well to the standards that cartoons set in the late nineties but Talespin is a whole 'nother story entirely. I am impressed with how subtle and just plain GOOD the writing is and the action scenes are actually EXCITING. The plots and stakes set up are absolutely wonderful. It's like an animated Disney Comic, of which I know of no higher praise. Lots of cuteness and melodrama and the gags and animation are great. Fun and likable characters too.

And I LOVE how they set up Shere Khan (played by the late great Tony Jay) as a business man who operates dangerously in the shadows and is a real threat. Man, the voice acting on this show (ESPECIALLY by the late Ed Gilbert and Jim Cummings) is terrific.

Did I mention it has one of the greatest cartoon theme songs EVER? I think the only cartoon with a better theme song is Freakazoid. Even favorites of mine like Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures and Teen Titans aren't as great.

Wow. This was a GREAT kids show. I wish it had been on when I was younger as it debuted when I was in high school. But DANG, it was a good show. I can't wait to watch the rest of the set. I have a feeling Darkwing may be neglected for a while. *****.

I finished the Simpsons Season Eight too and I'll have a review of that up shortly. Short review: The greatest Simpsons season out of all seventeen. You heard me.
