Reviews of the latest episodes of Lost, 24, Prison Break and Veronica Mars along with the Stephen King novel Bag of Bones and Uncle Scrooge # 362.

Note about 24. After this week I will no longer be giving this show the benefit of the doubt. If it starts seriously sucking, I'm gonna say so.

Lost "Stranger in a Strange Land"

I liked the episode but I was a little bit confused about the tattoo stuff. I didn't quite get what everything meant. I'm used to being confused about this show but I think they were trying to make a point I didn't get. What did Jack mean that his tattoo meant something different than what it said?

Good Kate/ Sawyer shippage this ep. I REALLY like that Sawyer asssumed Kate was mad at him because she felt ashamed of sleeping with him. I think that REALLY threw her and probably made her regret some of her earlier tantrums in the episode. Good stuff.

I love Jack protecting Juliet. I understand why he is too. Juliet seems so darn HUMAN when compared to the rest of the Others (with the possible exception of Tom) and despite how creepy she can be she IS quite sympathetic. Plus, she's totally hot.

I liked the episode but I think it's a little bit frustrating that we have to keep switching back and forth between the Others stuff and the regular islanders each week. I think they may be changing that next episode. but it's left us with cliffhangers I can't wait to be resolved for MANY times now. ****.

24 "Day Six: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM"

I think the producers were gambling that seeing Logan again at the end of the episode was supposed to be shocking but they leaked he was returning so early on that it didn't exactly strike me as so. Gregory Itzin WAS one of last season's highlights so I'll be looking forward to seeing more of him next week.

Jack and his father was kind of ridiculous this week. Yeah, it was kind of tense, but seriously predictable.

I was pleasantly suprised to see Tom Lennox double-cross Reed.

Why is Morris still working at CTU? He's been WAAAAAAAYYYY more trouble than he's worth today and has screwed up numerous times. I feel like I could REALLY use a CTU power play about now.

The episode was all right. ***1/2

Prison Break "Bad Blood"

EXCELLENT episode this week. I was actually relieved by the resolution of T-Bag's plot and thought that for the first time EVER the dude actually came off as sympathetic. The BIGGEST thing I was worried about with him escaping was him hurting that family and it's really a HUGE relief that he let them go. The whole plot was kind of ridiculous and I'm glad they ended it.

Sucre and Maricruise at the airport made me smile.

I felt REALLY bad for C-Note this week and completely understand why he turned himself in (that doctor didn't look too steady, did he?) but at the same time I'm REALLY bummed he's going against Micheal next week apparantly. NOW I'm glad Micheal, Linc and Sucre tried to freeze him out when they stole that money. I wonder how he'll feel when he finds out Mahone plans to kill him for his troubles.

Linc beating up Kim was REALLY cathardic for himself and I think the audience. It REALLY needed to happen.

SO glad to see Pope again and he is as decent as I remembered. I thought his confrontation with Micheal was TENSE but I love how Sara convinced him to help him anyways. I REALLY hope he doesn't get screwed by Kim next week and his family killed off for spite.

Speaking of Sara I understand COMPLETELY why she double-crossed Kellerman but he was a VALUABLE resource to the brothers and I think they already have enough enemies.

I loved the episode. ****1/2.

Veronica Mars "Mars, Bars"

TELL me they did NOT just kill off Sheriff Lamb! He is one of the best characters on the show! WHAT a shocker!

Getting closer to finding out the Dean's murderer step by step.

I liked the resolution to Josh's drama. REALLY cool ending.

I did NOT care for the scavenger hunt with Logan, Parker, Mac and her new annoying boyfriend. I kept wondering if Parker's wig was going to fall off in the ocean and seeing the wonderful Mac hook up with that guy made me grumpy.

SHERIFF Keith Mars? The plot thickens! Can't wait for next week! ****.

Bag of Bones by Stephen King

I loved the characters in the book but the book had one of the saddest endings I've ever read. I did NOT want the character who died to die and I think the ending was a huge bummer. The ghost story stuff was cool and I liked the mystery of Max Devore and the TR (SUCH a great villain) but the ending depressed me. ***1/2.

Uncle Scrooge # 362

Uncle Scrooge in "Return to Plain Awful" by Don Rosa:

One of my favorite Don Rosa stories EVER this sequel to Carl Barks' Lost in the Andes is SO great because it follows the rules established in the previous story thoroughly (and in the case of Donald's buttons, more so) and each twist builds upon each other. I LOVE the great ice cream soda race, ESPECIALLY Donald's reaction to the kids telling him they needed to create one from scratch on the spot. I also love how with the exception of getting his number one dime back NOTHING goes the way Scrooge wants it too in the story. I love how even how when the Awfultonians mimicked Scrooge and Glomgold's mannerisms that they stayed noble and true to themselves. And I ESPECIALLY loved Donald's role in the story as patient teacher to Uncle Scrooge which builds INCREDIBLY into the last line which is SO perfect and probably one of the greatest gags in all of Disney Comics. *****.

Uncle Scrooge in "Red Roses and Blueberry Pie": Quite a stupid Valentine's story in my book. It deals with sexual harrassment in a pretty stupid way and Daisy is incredibly stupid and unlikable throughout. **1/2.

Gyro Gearloose in "Love Letters in the Mail,": Even stupider story about love-sick robot mailboxes. SO dumb and unfunny, it's pathetic. If someone actually read this story and thought all Disney Comics were like this, I'd look like a nut for being a fan. *.

Uncle Scrooge in "The Dollar Stalactite!" by Romano Scarpa: I love Brigetta MacBridge and always find her interplay with Scrooge amusing. The story was pretty good too and I like how Brigetta comes off in this story since she wasn't aware that the nephews were tricking Scrooge about the treasure. ***1/2.

That's how they're referred to in the story. Fun, no? :D
