Brothers: There wasn't really a need for a "betrayal" prophecy at all. It was just lazy writing trying to get a rise out of the audience.
Trials Of Lion-O: I'm pretty sure he's always hated the character and spoke up before then. I remember him on QVC hawking Star Trek gear while Next Gen was still on the air and he was funny and charming.
