I agree with that, but AD did have the tried and true formula of "sane man in an insane world" that shows like 30 Rock use, so it's not always about having an entire cast of sympathetic characters.
And for the record, the most heartwarming moment on that show for me came when Buster was the only one not to sell his shares in the company simply because Michael asked him not to.
