The beginning of it was, sure, even if it was kind of confusing (especially the tie-ins), you could tell they had planned for this while the show was still on the air in case they ever got a 6th season. Still, of the 20 or so comics I read, the first 15 were great, but once it changed the landscape and dropped a handful of characters and added some new ones, I lost interest, and it didn't feel like Angel anymore. Despite the wacky concepts, I felt a sense of Buffy throughout season eight, probably because they remembered to keep the prominence of Buffy, Xander, and Willow (and Dawn).
