Hank being an everyman when it came to vocations just fell by the wayside. I don't regret it (I like the character's arc very much) but originally when his role was smaller and more comedic him having a new job every week was supposed to be a running gag.
One of the interesting things I do in my (rare) fight scenes is I usually put in one unique sound effect per panel. Sometimes the effect comes across as humorous. That is definitely true for this scene.
