I completed TWO scripts today actually!

First script is

UnComix Tales: The Terran Wars #4: Chapter Twelve "Everything Hurts" (Un-Iverse #83)

What can I tell the Dreamwidth Faithful? Very little, I think. I don't want to spoil it. Obviously I can probably come up with one or two non-spoilery insights.

Okay, I thought before I scripted it, it might wind up the longest issue in the entire Un-Iverse. It's kind of nice it's not (I dislike too-long scripts) but it's still hefty as hell and had a LOT of moving parts to get straight. The second and third parts of The Dark Chld Saga; The Fall Of F.I.S.H. will each almost certainly be over a hundred pages. This one MIGHT be, but I don't think so.

The second insight is it's one of the only issues of The Terran Wars that is the combined franchise crossover event I planned back in the day. The original idea was for each title in The Terran Wars to start off as it's own thing, and the surviving characters of Gilda And Meek, F.I.S.H., and Lace Doilies eventually meet and interact in a huge crossover event and sort of collide as the story goes along. For story reasons, outside of the final Un-Iverse issue ever (UnComix Tales: The Terran Wars Aftermath #2: Part Two "This World Or Another" (Un-Iverse #90)) this is the only issue featuring characters from all three series interacting with each other. It's the only issue of The Tales that is truly the combined crossover event I originally envisioned.

Third note: It's my third favorite issue of all time.

Second script is

Otterman: Quest For The Conduit #3: The Terran Wars: Chapter Thirteen "Eddie Explains It All" (Un-Iverse #84)

This is my favorite issue of The Un-Iverse. Period. Past and future. I will never write another script this good again, and I am absolutely fine with that. I knew going in it would be my favorite. It is not just my favorite issue of The Un-Iverse, it is the greatest Famous Talky Issue of all time. Even if you disagree that it's the best (and I expect SOME pushback there) there is no denying that.

I feel comfortable actually giving a brief plot synopsis. The drama of the issue is Otterman confronting Eddie Cat and getting crucial information that is both necessary to the heroes' victory, and also quite possibly heralds their defeat. I'll tell you what. I'll post a BRIEF scene from the issue to give you a bit of flavor of what I'm going for. I don't ever do this, but it won't spoil anything else, other than the fact that Otterman IS alive, but I have never ONCE remotely hidden that fact from the reader, or pretended the ending to Lace Doilies was anything but unsatisfying bullshit. Here is an excerpt from "Eddie Explain It All".

Eddie: "Are you sure I can't get you anything to drink?"

Otterman: "There is nothing I want from you!"

Eddie: "C'mon, it's the middle of the desert. You've got to be thirsty."

Otterman: "We're not friends. I'm not having a drink with you."

Eddie: "It's hot out, you came a long way, we'll be here awhile. You are sweating up a storm. Is this about the time I shot you in the stomach? Get over it!"

Otterman: "No! I'm not takin' the drink, man!"

Eddie: "You were supposed to be the smart one."

Otterman: "Excuse me?"

Eddie: "This noble superhero crap? You were supposed to be the one guy better than this, who didn't play these games. It's a frickin' drink! What statement are you making by refusing it? Do you think you'll offend me? That I'll stop drinking beverages in shame? Or are you defending your honor? Do you think I'll talk you up at the next Supervillain meeting as being someone so powerful they could resist my mighty drink-offering abilities? It's a freakin' drink, not a hill to die on! Don't read anymore into it than that. And hey, free drink!"

Otterman: "Point taken. What have you got?"

Eddie: "Milk or prune juice."

Otterman: "Milk. Or prune juice."

Eddie: "Milk for my ulcer. Prune juice for the chaos."

Otterman: "Of course."

Eddie: "I can already tell this is gonna be a fun night."

I think people think I am outright crazy to state that Otterman is my third favorite character after Gilda and Bernadette, but he was THERE for it, man, and got trapped in the issue's gravitational pull of awesomesauce. Meek and the Piranha never had a chance.
