You were the best President of my lifetime. I am sad to see you go.

Gilda And Meek And The Un-Iverse on BlogSpot welcomes CandicePenelope as Site Author! Candice can post articles if she likes although she probably won't. The big deal is entrusting The Un-Iverse to a second person in case something should happen to me.

Candice thinks Kamala can win. She also thinks if the DNC bypasses her for random white dude we will lose. I agree with her on both points.

All of these endorsements coming in immediately helps her chances. She's so far gotten Biden, both Clintons, and Elizabeth Warren. Still waiting for the Obamas. Once they endorse her I think it's over.

I don't want to admit this. But I will. I am relieved. I believe it would have been possible for Joe Biden to win reelection, and decisively, if Democrats stopped their bullshit and stood behind him. I just don't believe that would have happened. Thinking Kamala Harris is probably gonna get the nod relieves me.

I love Joe Biden. But the thing particularly stressing me out was the fact that Biden was being held to an unrealistic standard in everything he said and did. The slightest brain fart, the briefest stutter, the mildest limp when he walked, basically fed into this Doom Loop both the media and Democrats had constructed. I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Kamala Harris doesn't have a stutter. She's a good public speaker. And to be crass, she's very attractive. Which might make a huge difference. She will definitely drive away some Trump to Biden voters due to racism. But she can grow the youth vote, the Black vote, and the women vote. My ailing mother might live to see a woman President in her lifetime.

One of the reasons I stuck with Joe Biden for so long is because according to historian Allan Lichtman, who has correctly predicted almost every Presidential election since 1984 using his "13 Keys" model, Joe Biden was on track to win, and Kamala Harris would not be able to secure enough "keys" to win.

But if the Doom Loop had continued until the election, I don't see how Biden could have won. And that would make Lichtman's model WRONG. And if he could have potentially been wrong about Biden winning, isn't it possible he might be wrong about Harris losing? This does not strike me as a remotely normal election where previous models can be accurately counted on.

One of my hopes for Kamala Harris (beside cruising to the nomination) is her being able to reform the Obama Coalition. That had us making in-roads to reddish states like Ohio, Florida, and Iowa that we've lost with both Hillary and Biden in the years since. Harris is going to get a lot of Black women registering voters and talking to people about the importance of the election.

Candice made a final important point to me. I'm not sure she's right. But she could be. She mentioned she saw a dude on TV automatically talking about how old and decrepit Donald Trump looks and acts and, hey maybe this geezer is not up to the job anymore. Candice told me it would be PERFECT if that specific argument was immediately turned around on Trump.

I trust Candice on most things politics, but I don't know if I agree with her on this point. That would assume the media could be fair and not have double-standards there. The past three weeks tells me that's unlikely. It's a good thought and nice wish though.

Candice is of the opinion if this was always gonna happen, if Kamala gets the nod, it's very possible the Dems timed this perfectly. It's right after the Republican convention. Not only is the wind being taken entirely out of Trump's sails on the one guaranteed week of positive news coverage for him during the entire election. But Biden dropped out after Trump accepted the nomination. If he had done that BEFORE that, Republicans might have had second thoughts. Now we have an smart, charming, attractive, kind person who is likely to be our nominee, and they are locked in with the Orange Turd.

Maybe the real way the country can move on from Donald Trump is an election between a former prosecutor and a convicted felon. Does anything articulate the stakes clearer than that?
