I had a GREAT "strategy" that no-one else ever used, so I would win a ton of games because of it: I wouldn't screw over the other players unless I had to. Part of the fun of the game is screwing over your friends (hence the name) but when you are playing against a group of people, more of them are willing to form an alliance with you if they know you aren't going to stab them in the back.
I don't even think this was strategy when I was a kid, but simply a case of me being nice. Which seems to always pay off whenever I do it.
I also was a master at Connect Four which sort of surprises me because I am terrible at math. But I can totally count in increments of four just fine.
