I think Seth did a GREAT favor for all consumers of popular culture in the Family Guy episode "Grimm Job". In it Stewie refuses to play along with the Red Riding Hood / Big Bad Wolf dressed as Grandma scenario because it is stupid. And you know what? It is! Little Red Riding Hood has been considered a children's classic for centuries but it is an inane piece of drivel. It is about as stupid as an episode of Barney and Friends but I don't see Barney being around in 200 years outside of landfills of factory toy rejects.

Do you know how big a favor this was to me? It told me that just because society accepts something as great or classical, it doesn't mean it is. Seth gave me permission to point out that Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, isn't in fact an animated Masterpiece, but is boring as sin. I was able to roll my eyes at the gaping and stupid plot holes in the Joss Whedon adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing written by so-called genius William Shakespeare. And I CERTAINLY don't have to accept Russell T Davies' take on Doctor Who anymore simply because it is better than the Colin Baker / Sylvester McCoy era. That should not be the freaking bar.

I have always been an easy to please viewer. With that one episode Seth gave me permission to be displeased more often. Which is good.
