Good news!
Jun. 20th, 2012 09:06 pmI'm posting this link for Chris because he was a bit worried that there would be blowback from President Obama supporting gay marriage.

Obama is a political genius. Even support for gay marriage has increased among extreme conservatives since he announced his support. Rather than making it a sticking point for conservatives to cudgel him over the head with, he simply made the position mainstream.
He's curently doing another "Xanatos Gambit" with Mitt Romney regarding immigration. If Romney opposes Obama's policy, he loses Latinos. If he supports it, he loses Republicans who never thought he was a "true conservative" in the first place. If he says nothing (which is the tack he is currently taking) everybody else thinks he's a coward.
Well played, Mr. President.
