Is Fox out of it's mind?!?!

A Buffy REMAKE?! The franchise has barely been off the air for five years! Remakes are for franchises where the casts are either really old or dead (see Battlestar Galactica). And without Joss? Are they kidding? The Kuzuis SUCK and were the main reason the original movie was so terrible.
If Fox is so interested in the franchise why alienate it's millions of fans who have been waiting five years for original material featuring the show's cast (who are still by the way, young and healthy)? This will go down as the stupidest decision Hollywood has made (or probably will make) this year and is up there with the stupidest Fox decision ever (Continuing The X-Files without David Duchovny).
