Why I don't like Larry the Cable Guy
Apr. 14th, 2007 07:12 pmI don't know if he's really a racist but he plays on the racists in his audience. He calls Muslims ragheads and gays f*gs and seems to think that the absolute worst insult you can throw at a person is calling them a liberal. David Cross gave an excellent smack-down of him in an open letter:

Like Rosalyn Carter noted of Ronald Reagan "He seems to make people comfortable with their prejudices".
Larry is the single reason I only sort of liked Cars and could not fully enjoy it.
After Don Imus hopefully racist, sexist humor will start to take a downturn in what is and isn't acceptable. But I see little difference in Imus' racist "slip" and what Larry does in his act each and every time.
