Micheal Scott forced me to write this entry last night.

I'm not going to bother listing my favorite fictional characters because there are so many of them. I'd probably just waste half the list on Muppets anyways. But characters that get under my skin, that REALLY rub me the wrong way are much rarer. I tend to even like villains if they're written the right way.

By the way, Marie Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond DESERVES to be on this list but there are a LOT of times where she turns out to be more insightful and sympathetic than I expected to actually make me put her on it.

10. Lieutenant Malcolm Reed (Star Trek: Enterprise). Star Trek's biggest butt munch since Geordi La Forge)

9. Michael Scott (The Office). He is narcissistic, petulant and believes the world revolves around him. He thinks he is brilliant and funny and is neither of those things. He is in fact stupid and any funny stuff on his part is purely unintentional. He's be MUCH higher on this list if people actually liked him like Peggy Hill.

8. Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter). By all rights this mean, spoiled boy should be higher on the list but there IS a certain charm about a character this unrepentantly nasty.

7. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (Battlestar Galactica) This character may be damaged but that's no excuse for her treating the people who care about her the way she does. This season made her into a new low by actually trying to break up Lee's marriage to the wonderful Dee. Unlikeable as sin.

6. D.A. Arthur Branch (Law and Order). It would be one thing if this character (played by the annoying Fred Thompson) was actually portrayed as the egotistical self serving a-hole he comes off as but lately L&O has been trying to turn him into the "wise" replacement for the irreplaceable Adam Shiff (formerly played by the wonderful Steven Hill).

5. Parker Abrams (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). To Buffy's credit this character (like Malfoy) is INTENTIALLY unlikeable but that doesn't change the fact that this butthole who used his dead father to get Buffy to have sex with him and then ignored her afterwards is easily the most despicable Buffy character ever (for the audience at least).

4. Max Gibson (Batman Beyond). This character is so annoying it's not even funny. She forced her way into the Bat-Family unearned and constantly is jeopardizing Terry's secret and mission. I think Style92's speculation of what happened to her and Terry near the end of their relationship is probably dead on.

3. Lana Lang (Smallville) Lana manages to single-handedly ruin every episode she is in (and she is in ALL of them). SUCH a drip and unpleasant and annoying. What Clark and Lex see in her is beyond me. She's awful.

2. Peggy Hill (King of the Hill). I MIGHT be able to forgive Peggy's ego, her idiocy, and her manipulative nature if she was ever actually forced to eat crow or learn a lesson. But no, Hank is the ultimate enabler and protects her from ever realizing what a horrible person she is. Publish the ingredients for mustard gas in the local newspaper? Get a promotion! Peggy would easily get the top spot if there wasn't a character I liked even less than her. She is horrible.

1. Mr. Garrison (South Park). The most evil, twisted character in South Park (and THAT is saying something) I hate everything about this character: how he's a closet pedophile, a racist, how he treats everyone like crap, a pervert, and a homophobe and feels no bad feelings about people dying to serve his ego. Any character who wants to have an abortion to feel the baby's brains being scrambled is beyond evil. He makes Eric Cartman look like Eddie Haskell from Leave It to Beaver.
