Bummer

Walked to the bookstore today and flipped through the Buffy and Angel Official fanzines they had. Apparantly it has come straight from Joss Whedon himself that any future Buffyvers DTVs or TV Movies feautring Spike, and Faith and Willow are dead and unlikely to resurface. This is probably old news to people but I feel like the door has been slammed shut in my face and on the heel of the DCAU becoming M.I.A. this really stings.

The thing that sunk the DTVs was a money issue and that Joss and Fox couldn't come to terms (big shock considering this is the company that is STILL stalling the X-Files sequel). I hold out a glimmer of hope that once Wonder Woman hits Joss will regain the clout he lost with Serenity being such a box-office disappointment and he'll be able to call his own shots. I still don't know if that will happen though.

The DTVs sounded cool too. Amy Acker revealed that one of the DTVs featured Gunn as the villian. He was supposed to get killed off early on in one of the DTVs and turn into a vampire and become evil. That sounds unbearably cool even of I KNOW I'm not honestly that crazy about the idea of Gunn dying. J. August Richards said that he had always expected Gunn to turn into a vampire at some point and wind up staking himself. I really should have bought those magazines.

On the plus side apparantly a Fray movie isn't out of the question. I just wonder when Joss will be able to get to it. A Buffy movie featuring the entire cast is my dream but a lot of Buffyverse actors are kinda fickle about it. Sigh.
