I like SJJ. He wanted to know exactly why I left Toon Zone so I told him. This is the email he sent me in reply:
Matt, when you are a person who becomes well known at any message
board, you get those who like you and those who don't. Part and
parcel. There is no way you can appease everyone. Trust me, I
know. :) The pitfalls of being famous. Take it as a compliment,
you're opinion is noted. Says something surely. :)
As for [name removed], you should have told us and let us see if there is
anything we could have done. Yes, it is more complicated, but we
would have taken it to Brian or Harley and see what their call on it
was. They after-all are the ones who spend x hundred bucks a month on
keeping TZ alive. If someone is using their outgoings to bully
others, they'd want to know.
As it is, I appreciate your candidness. Bit late for us to do
anything about it, but it does mean I have someone to watch a little
closer than usual. I'm disappointed in him quite honestly and
slightly angry too. He's old enough to know better.
As for your decision, I respect that also. You are right; sanity does
come first. If you are unhappy, you leave. Still, I wish you had come
to us and let us know. No one deserves to get away with insults and
if nothing else we may have been able to mediate the issue with him
and sort out any problems.
Anyway, see you around. Thanks for the reply.
James

Honestly, this actually makes me feel a little bit better about things. The people who I've told the identity of the PM sender have all sided with me which is something I'm not used to, I guess. I'm not going back but it really helps me to know that I didn't really deserve to be treated that way. I think it helps. I think I'll invite SJJ to friend me on live-journal.
