I went to BJs Wholesale Club and found seasons one through three of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on DVD for fifty bucks each. I glommed onto the first season the way Scrat does an acorn. I went on-line to Amazon just now and discovered the list prices for the first three seasons of DS9 AND The Next Generation have lowered to around $55 each from an original price of $108. What I want to know is how come this wasn't huge news everywhere considering how many people have been waiting for the prices of these sets to go down. I'm also wondering if the rest of the seasons and the other three series will follow suit on the price drop. I found an article on TrekToday.com about Region 2 releasing season sets of Star Trek without extras for much lower prices for Trek's 40th Anniversary and I'm hoping that happens in America too. While the six low priced sets that are available now DO have all the extras on them (the price just dropped) I will gladly pick up future Trek sets without extras if it means I can get them on the cheap regardless of whether or not the packaging will clash.
I just want to know what's up with the Trek sets and if the price drop sets are scheduled to come to region one. Star Trek is the one franchise on DVD I have been avoiding (well, besides Quantum Leap for different reasons) and I'd sure like to have the shows in my DVD collection sooner, rather than later.
All I need now is for Static Shock, The Zeta Project, Gotham Girls, an uncut version of Quantum Leap with all of the music restored and Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures to hit DVD and I'll be all set.
