Dear Dad...

I know you have always tried to get me to watch football as you enjoy it as much as you do. But I won't. I know part of you talking about it all the time is revenge for me talking about plushies and Elmo so much but there are MANY reasons I don't watch (which I will not print here). However ONE reason to miss the Superbowl that you should be aware of is because of the response I had from you from the end of the Superbowl I DID watch (even though it was only the last ten minutes).

The first time the Patriots won they kicked an awesome field goal that was just so spectacular right at the buzzer. I have to admit it was exciting stuff (the least of which was because it didn't pre-empt what I was planning on watching after it). I called you excitedly after it (like a NORMAL person does to their friends or family after your team wins the Superbowl) and was promtly informed that my call was aggravating you since you were trying to watch the post-game.

I told myself after that that I would never bother watching football again. TS.

Love,
Matt

I told my Dad about my reason yesterday and he sounded REALLY embarrassed (that just is NOT good Superbowl etiquette that he pulled that time) and guilty and I was glad that he got it finally. I just hope he never finds a good reason for being aggravated with me always talking about Elmo and plushies. :D

I REALLY wish I had watched the entire Superbowl that time. I probably could have made him feel guilty enough to buy me a puppy. :D
