Not a perfect book series (there were a LOT of slow spots, especially in Voyage of the Dawn Treader)but danged if The Last Battle wasn't thrilling from start to finish. It also has the distinction of being the best ending to any book I have ever read. If Harry Potter has an ending this mind-blowing I will take back everything bad I've ever thought about those books.
And yeah, the Christian allegory was pretty strong throughout the books, especailly The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle. I'm really surprised that Disney tried a marketing push for the film similar to The Passion of the Christ as the Christian imagery throughout the books spoke to the loving Jesus I knew and learned about in Sunday school rather than the fire-and-brimstone claptrap spouted but Pat Roberson and other religious perverts.
A great book series and even better than The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
