The War on Christmas
Dec. 7th, 2005 06:13 pmI think the War on Christmas and Santa Claus are similar in the fact that they are both fictional. I have yet to walk down the street and hear "Boo! Christians suck!" or "Athiest Power!" Maybe I'm just hanging out at the wrong places.
Tell ya what. When us Christians in this country are segregated, put into concentration camps, lynched, have crosses burned in our yards and have our churches burned down, I will have no problem with playing the oppressed minority card. As it stands the War on Christmas is simply Bill O'Reilly pandering to idiots.
Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas and I pretty much wish people Merry Christmas all year round. I was the first person to wish my baby niece Merry Christmas in July and I usually start looking forward to it in March. If the War on Christmas IS real, rest assured I've personally given out enough Christmas greetings to make up for Wal-Mart. But honestly? Big rich white guys playing the persecuted card kind of makes me sick and is insulting to the minorities in this country who DO have to deal with discrimination every day.
