Battlestar Galactica "Valley of Darkness"

Tense episode. The Cylons boarding the ship were creepy. I also liked the tension among the survivors on Kobol. L.T (was that his name?) is seriously cracking up and I felt REALLY bummed that after all that effort that the meds were useless. A good episode that moved things right along even though the absense of Boomer/ Sharon at this point is really noticable. ****.

Battlestar Galactica "Fragged"

Even more tense episode than usual. Episodes like this are the reason I love Baltar. I don't trust him one bit but he always manages to surprise me. Killing L.T. was the right thing to do at this point.

I was really worried about Roslin there for a while but I'm glad she's feeling better. Tigh is a REALLY bad commander and everything he touches seems to turn to crap. Good episode. ****.

Battlestar Galactica "Resistance"

The scene where Baltar threatens to kill Tyrell to make Boomer talk was absolutely brilliant AND risky which is what made it so awesome. I have to wonder WHY he revealed to Boomer that he fixed her test. I'm glad Roslin and Lee got away. And YAY Adama is awake! Just in time. Tigh REALLY screwed things up (FOUR unarmed civilians shot?). I'm convinced that Lady MacTigh is a Cylon. There is no other explaination for trying to make Tigh do such stupid butt decisions that will almost certainly lead to the fracturing of the colonies. I REALLY hope Adama being awake will fix things. The end with Boomer dying in Tyrell's arms was really touching. I don't blame the cadet for killing her but she would have made an EXCELLENT prisoner so they seem to be back to square one. At least we know for SURE that there are still eight Cylons in the fleet. Great episode. ****1/2.

Lost "The Glass Ballerina"

This season is REALLY pissing me off. How could they have Sun do that? It may just be me but I don't find adultery and confused parentage all that juicy or sexy. That's too soap opera-ish and I expect more from this show. Sun used to be one of my favorite characters too. I think I could have handled it if she had told Jin the truth last season but she lied to him WHILE trying to pretend she was being honest with him.

If this episode made me REALLY dislike Sun it also made me REALLY like Jin. He may not be the greatest husband in the world but Sun's father put him in a crappy situation and as a moral person there were very few options left to him. That makes Sun's betrayal all the more galling. Even so when Jin let that guy go I cheered because it was an affirmation that despite all of his flaws he is a moral person.

The episode wasn't ALL bad however. The scenes with the Others this week were really cool and Sawyer and Kate had quite a few cute moments. And the sit-down with Jack and Ben at the end was awesome especially the replay of the 2004 World's Series. I think Ben is wasting his time though. Jack will not be as easy to corrupt as Micheal because Jack isn't only out for himself and his son. If I were Jack, however, I'd be using these friendly overtures to learn everything about the Others I could. Speaking of learning, how majorly stupid are Kate and Sawyer to think they were going to get away with that plan? OF COURSE the prison is hooked up to a camera you chumps! Jebus.

I really didn't like this episode and this season is pissing me off. Hopefully it will improve but as of now I am losing interest in this show. So much far Lost being my replacement fandom for the Buffyverse, the DCAU, Farscape and Star Trek. Battlestar Galactica has a MUCH better shot of winning me over but I haven't seen every episode yet. Oh well. **1/2.

South Park "Mystery of the Urinal Deuce"

Considering how South Park's political episodes have been VERY hit and miss lately I was pleasantly surprised that this episode wasn't a total wash. I think the idea of the government being behind the conspiracy theory was kind of toothless but havig Stan being involved because of the urinal duke was absolutely brilliant. The Hardly Boys were seriously creeping me out though. And Kyle's disbelieving "no, REALLY?"s were hilarious. ***1/2.
