Aquaman Series NOT picked up by CW
From Sci-Fi Wire:
"CW Sinks Aquaman
The CW unveiled its first fall schedule on May 18, but noticeably absent was the proposed Aquaman series, which had been tentatively called The Reef: The Legend of Aquaman. A spokeswoman for The CW confirmed to SCI FI Wire that the show was not picked up, despite a lot of publicity about the pilot, which starred Justin Hartley as the amphibious DC Comics superhero and supporting players Lou Diamond Phillips, Ving Rhames and Denise Quinones. The pilot came from the creators of Smallville, which the fledgling network picked up for a sixth season.
Speaking earlier this month at the Saturn Awards in Universal City, Calif., Phillips told SCI FI Wire that the pilot shot in Miami and that hopes had been high for a series pickup.
The pilot was not without troubles: Hartley stepped in at the last minute to replace the previously cast Will Toale after The WB and UPN announced they would merge to create The CW. —Patrick Lee, News Editor"
Well, it's good to know the Aquaman embargo on JLU was worth it.
Seriously, DC Comics and their embargoes are REALLY starting to piss me off. I REALLY hope Justice League gets some of those rumored DTVs that Matt Wayne was talking about and that that the Bat and Aqua Embargoes don't follow. It's a stupid and unnessecary policy that doesn't help anything, ESPECIALLY if the show the Embargo is "protecting" isn't even greenlit.

I REALLY hope any future DTVs are embargo immune. That would almost make up for it.
