Fringe: The Complete Fourth Season Review (Major Spoilers)
Also reviews for the latest episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and the series premiere of Revolution.
Marvel Universe
Ultimate Spider-Man "Run Pig Run"
Do you know how long I have waited for a proper Peter Porker, The Spectacular Spider-Ham cartoon? That was pretty much the only Marvel Superhero Comic I read regularly as a kid and I think they need to make a series out of it.
This take was all-right I guess but since it took place in the Ultimate Universe proper they couldn't bring any other characters with him. I would LOVE to see Thrrr, Dog of Thunder, The X-Bugs, Captain Americat, The Fantastic Furs, Iron Mouse, The Incredible Hulk-Bunny, Deerdevil, Croctor Strange, and Silver Squirrel animated. That should be the next Marvel animated series. For reals.
So yeah, I liked the episode and I hope it was a tryout for a proper Spider-Ham series. Probably not, but a guy can dream. ****.
The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes "Emperor Stark"
I said I wasn't going to give any high grades to this show until Hulk returns but I'll break my rule just this once. They put TWO new Avengers in the opening (Yellowjacket and Vision) and had a concept that I was SURE was going to be a dream sequence but totally made it not a cheat at all. Good for snagging Brent Spiner too. Okay, I couldn't actually read the credits to see if he was the guy voicing Purple Man but his voice is pretty distinctive and I'm almost positive it was him. With the exception of Jeffrey Combs this show has shied away from celebrity voices so that was refreshing.
Yeah, I'll give this four stars. But Hulk better be back soon. ****.
Revolution "Pilot"
The final twist showing the working computer was a HUGE mistake. They just completely watered down the entire concept of the show. They should have saved that twist for a season finale a la the flashforwards from Lost. Heck, I wouldn't have minded if it happened in the first season finale, but the first episode? No way.
That said, the series is interesting to me and I'll keep watching. I hope it doesn't prevent Giancarlo Esposito from appearing on Once Upon A Time. Hopefully the producers of the two shows have something worked out.
The episode opened on a huge mistake. We'll see how big it actually was and whether or not it does damage to the show in the weeks to come. ***1/2.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes "Emperor Stark" - I was betting this was all a failsafe Ultron programmed into Vision so that when he'd wake up, he'd attack the Avengers. Brent Spiner's Purple Man managed to be even creepier than his Joker. I approve!
Revolution "Pilot" - I thought it was a cool show, I'll definitely be tuning in. They didn't write Esposito off OUaT, did they? The way they had him in the finale was weird. As for the working computer, I kind of agree. I'm just hoping the main characters don't get wind of it anytime soon.

The Avengers: My theory was that it was a similation created by Tony Stark to test Vision's loyalty and see if any traces of Ultron were left in him. We were both wrong. As for Spiner's Purple Man being better than his Joker that's not hard because his Joker sucked donkey balls.
Revolution: Isn't he currently in the asylum where Belle was being held? Jefferson walked past a cell with his name on it. I don't know if Esposito will be back or not (avoiding spoilers) but we'll find out soon enough. If I had to guess, I'd think he'll make another appearance because Bad Robot productions (which produces Revolution) is VERY friendly with the Horowitzes (who helped write Lost).

The Avengers: Also a fun theory.
Revolution: Yes, he is, and I wondered, in hindsight, if that did that to write him off the show. Hopefully he can do both, and he just narrated the OUaT season one recap, so...there ya go.

Revolution: Yes, the narration thing indicates he will be back so I'm relieved.
