Good news!

I'm posting this link for Chris because he was a bit worried that there would be blowback from President Obama supporting gay marriage.

Obama is a political genius. Even support for gay marriage has increased among extreme conservatives since he announced his support. Rather than making it a sticking point for conservatives to cudgel him over the head with, he simply made the position mainstream.

He's curently doing another "Xanatos Gambit" with Mitt Romney regarding immigration. If Romney opposes Obama's policy, he loses Latinos. If he supports it, he loses Republicans who never thought he was a "true conservative" in the first place. If he says nothing (which is the tack he is currently taking) everybody else thinks he's a coward.

Well played, Mr. President.

Well, it seems as though I underestimated the American people. But I'd never underestimate Obama...go Barack!

I'm not gonna lie. Even though I KNEW this would be a net positive for Obama (I knew it would fire up the base AND drive the narrative) I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be THIS positive. When Obama is for something, conservatives are against it just on general principle and to hear all of the extreme conservative minds he probably changed is heartening. Usually if Obama says he is for oxygen conservatives hold their breath until they pass out.

Yeah, I hate how Conservatives oppose him on principle.

There's nothing principled about it. It's racism, plain and simple.
