One of my greatest online rules is "Always listen to Classic Swim".
I'm not saying he's never wrong, but even when we disagree, he steers the conversation in the right direction. Toon Zone is crazy to give that up.
I have this rule for Denise Oliver Velez on Daily Kos too, and that should tell you CS is in amazing company.

I think the main problem was you posited a scenario about Tenacious D, said it sucked, but not why. Therefore, me being a well-intentioned and gullible sap, picked the wrong side of the argument. That's all that was. If something sucks, tell me why, and I'll believe you. I have that much faith in you. Asking me to take a shot in the dark about a subject I know little about means I'm just as likely to get it wrong.

It’s always commendable when you do want to participate in any dialogue, but I also acknowledge that you and I sometimes have very unrelatable tastes, so it just goes with the territory.
You’re the only one of my friends that knows I have a blog since I signed up just to chat with you. I shouldn’t have my own echo chamber, but sometimes I do shout in the dark which is my own flaw.
It wasn’t that I was really worried about offending you. I know that you hold your own, as do I. I wasn’t offended, and would not be offended by your stance, I just chalk it up again with not always having the aligning personality.
The attitude I tried maintaining on TZ was cordial, but the more natural side of me ditches that when I’m that pissed off on a subject. I’ll just clarify that you disagreeing would never be the source of anger. I saw a shitty news story and told it to fuck off because that’s just me.

Toon Zone had a LOT of subjects that made me aggravated. Being cordial was extremely hard.
