Exactly. The writers KNEW how that line would come across to a Black woman -- the SAME Black woman, in fact, who took part in one of, if not THE first interracial kiss, with SHATNER of all people, in an episode from The Original Series long before this film was even conceived. Looking back, that makes it look all the more like a blatant dick move on their part.
