"Cobra Kai" Season 6, Part 2 Reviews (Spoilers)

Also reviews for the latest episodes of Teen Titans Go!, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Cobra Kai "Bevinguts a Barcelona"

Where the hell did these Iron Dragons come from? They're good!

It's interesting the kids are being fair and understanding to Torie. It's not that I disagree with them, but a worse show than this would make it so they weren't.

Chozen is SUCH a fucking mess right now.

Johnny is still good for some amusement too.

Pretty good. ***1/2.

Cobra Kai "Dog In The Fight"

Johnny was kind of a dick in the locker room scene but he redeemed himself at the tournament by telling them to do it the Miyagi-Do way. And his scene with Devon was beyond sweet.

Miguel for the save! And yes, he's making Robbie look bad by comparison.

There is something eminently satisfying about seeing Daniel LaRusso simply (and unapologetically) kicking ass. More of this, please.

Good episode. ***1/2..

Cobra Kai "Snakes On A Plane"

Good episode title.

Honestly, the Terry Silver reveal is annoying. It's the last fucking season and we are covering too much familiar ground again.

Chozen's bit with the Cobra Kai lady wasn't exactly unpredictable either.

Robbie has spent this entire season making me think he sucks. I have never seen him do worse.

Liked Miguel's stuff with Johnny on the plane. "Are you going to be a problem, sir?" "Probably." I love the plane breaking out into applause when Miguel finally decked that asshole.

Kenny's stuff with Mrs. LaRusso was good and I thought Anthony was pretty funny too. I suspect what's gonna happen is when Miguel comes back, and Kenny arrives in Barcelona, Devon is deliberately going to step back. That would feel right for her arc.

I would have liked the episode better without the lame "shock" ending. ***.

Cobra Kai "Blood In Blood Out"

Kenny was really getting a raw deal all throughout the episode. It's really cool he remained loyal to Miyagi-Do, but were I him, I would have washed my hands of them at several points.

You believed Kwon, Robbie? How dumb are you?

I don't know if I've mentioned this, but the show is ending, and though I like it, I would be remiss to point out that Martin Kove is actually a terrible actor and has been since the 1980's. Kreese is a totally unconvincing bad guy. The irony? The same could have been leveled at Terry Silver back in the day but the guy who plays him has improved with age. If anything Kove comes off even cheesier if only because this actually is NOT an 80's movie and nobody hams shit up like that anymore.

Pretty sure this is the first time I ever mentioned that, but it should still go on the record books before this show closes up shop for good. ****.

Cobra Kai "Eunjangdo"

Somebody actually died. Shit just got real for the first time ever.

Or did it? The riot at the end WAS patently ridiculous, as was the idea that only Kwon's death was the thing that made them cut the feed. It's a big moment (even the villains are shocked and appalled) but even if it's adding actual stakes to an otherwise violent franchise sorely lacking them, it's also not remotely believable.

I hope the show got the okay from the estate of Pat Morita for the AI bit of him at the beginning. It's not like that wasn't a shitty scene too.

Let me tell you, Daniel is being extremely unfair to Mr. Miyagi's memory. He's acting like Miyagi was obligated to live his life perfectly, just so as not to disappoint him in hindsight. I hope whatever the actual truth about Miyagi's past is, the moral is also that Daniel is STILL being a judgmental piece of shit and has learned almost nothing from all this. Because that's what's happening.

I am not digging this second release of episodes of the season. ***.

Teen Titans Go! "The Ranch"

You know what? Robin being a violently abusive psychopath who hits women is NOT remotely funny.

I liked that they actually used the music cue from The Neverending Story, and it's always cool how the show has nonvoice actors like producers voice themselves, but Robin sucks ass. *1/2.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit "Tenfold"

I liked it a lot.

Carisi's stuff was VERY interesting, because it's not often the squad is asked to help potential perps before they do something unforgivable. Liv was absolutely right that once he asked for their help, they pretty much had to give it. Just getting him fired isn't enough anymore.

I love Wallen. Despite the circumstances it's good to see her again and get an update. And yeah, I get why she both trusts and distrusts Fin and Bruno at the same time. I thought Liv was VERY professional with her. Wallen was skeptical the entire time, and Liv earned her trust too.

I love Fin making Bruno pay out the 250. Each. Because he can afford it, and because he's dumb enough to keep that much cash on himself anyways. He has nobody to blame but himself for that.

The things lined up pretty well for the case once the sister flipped. Yeah, Liv is good at this. When the sister asks how many times he's done this, Liv asks how many times has she alibied him. Correct answer.

This show has been on the air forever and it's somehow still worth a damn. Why is that? ****.
