Hex: I don't know, I think McKinney is in his 70's now and still doing movies. Three this year, I believe. I have a feeling that it could any reason: he wasn't interested, schedule conflicts, or Timm and co. wanted to recast him with a less heroic voice (and/or Joss Whedon obsessed).
