I heard that too, although it's worth mentioning that RTD is capable of lying like a monkey to keep a plot twist hidden. He also assured us that season 2 wouldn't end with a war between Daleks and Cybermen, that Voyage of the Damned wouldn't have Kylie Minogue in it, and that the Master would never appear at all during his run on the series.
