New Compooter!

I got a new faster computer this weekend! I'm still on dial-up but it been incredibly easy to get my work done without Windows 98 (I have Windows XP now!). Hooray for new compooters!

Woo-hoo! What a coincidence. I'd been using Windows 98 up until last November when I got a new laptop with XP. Now we can BOTH enjoy some wholesome XPness.

I hope you had the usual fun in setting up the computer.

But XP is the most stable platform to go with, until Vista's Service Pack comes out.

My Dad set it up. We didn't actually find the process all that fun to be honest. It took forever.

It was VERY tough. Browsers kept closing for performing illegal operations. I get my computer work done in a third of the time now and that's being conservative. My dial-up connection is pretty fast where I am so I don't think I need to upgrade that.

I don't begrudge you the dial-up. Fixed income and all that.
And until recently, I used a Windows ME from time to time (not mine, sister's).

But the combination of both would be enough to turn me into a unabomber level technology hating crank.

Well, it didn't make me cranky but it DID make it hard to do some work. I'm glad I have a good compooter now. :)
