That's true. But Kring and the staff can get creative with the character of Claude. Back when Hiro and Ando were looking for Claremont's store, Hiro got pushed by an invisible Claude, who wasn't actually on set. That cracked me up at the ingenius of it.
I just came up with a more solid theory on what Kaito's power is. I think he has a weapon-based power, like Green Lanterns and their power rings. When Ando convinced Kaito to let him help fight off his killer, Kaito said he'd need a sword. Perhaps the sword is his 'power ring' and has maybe enhanced physical attributes that go with being a master swordsman. Sounds kinda cool.
