I just visited there to see how the letter-writing campaign for JLU was going and I found this. See nothing's post.

http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=156714&page=5

The first five pages of that thread were the mods telling people that they shouldn't be writing letters until an announcement is made because it is a waste of time. Then Superchicken gives us inside info and we are told that we shouldn't take it seriously. THEN Nothing confirms it and people are all like "Well, it had a good run..."

We deserve to have JLU cancelled. We are the crappiest most ball-less type of fans there are.

What a coincidence! The same types of allegations against John Murtha's war record happened to John McCain and John Kerry too! Now let's see what all three of these people have in common...

For the record, I am a treasonous hippie who should be put to death because I don't want to put my tongue up Bush's butt. But for some reason the people who do crap like this are the "moral majority".

"Why should I write a letter? I've been told it won't do any good."

There are many reasons actually. First off the idea that letters and fan campaigns for kids shows don't work is false. It's rare, but in this day and age enough letters and fan support can lead to more episodes or stories. Kim Possible is the shining example of this. I'm sure there were financial factors that allowed Disney to believe making new episodes of the show made sense but anyone who says the fan campaigns have no effect on the situation and speak with certainty on business decisions and which ones make sense are either network executives or people talking out their pooper. Gargoyles is another example. It took ten years but new Gargoyles stories written by Greg Weisman will be coming in a new comic book this year from Slave Labor Graphics. This is SOLELY because there is a large fanbase for them.

Closer to home the letter-writing campaign I started on Toon Zone for better extras for the last Batman DVD set was actually not in vain. True, the last set of Batman was as thin on extras as all of the previous sets but looking at the extras listed for the upcoming Batman Beyond and Justice League sets, there are about twice as many and they actually look INTERESTING. It may not have happened with the last set but the campaign paid off. Same deal with the widescreen petition for JL season two and JLU. Of course, NONE of these ventures cost as much money for WB than a new season of a cartoon show so it will take a MUCH bigger effort on our part. That doesn't mean it isn't worth trying.

"I don't want to waste my time on something that won't work".

I actually timed myself on how long it takes me to write a letter on the subject. It took ten minutes for me to write a polite letter and print it out, five minutes to address the envelope and affix the stamp, and another five to walk to my mailbox and back. It cost me a piece of paper, a page of ink, an envelope, a 39 cent stamp and twenty minutes. I find it incredible when people say they don't have the time and that they don't like "wasting" it when they post multiple times a day on cartoon message boards and take enough time out of each day doing as it takes to write between five and ten letters each day ON THE EXACT SAME SUBJECT.

"This will never work."

Fine. You are right. It won't work. Whatever. Do me just ONE little favor. If you don't like CN's business decisions or think all of their cartoons suck nowadays, just do do me a favor and shut up about it. You have absolutely NO right to complain when you won't take twenty minutes out of your precious day to actually DO something other than b****. Even if this campaign DOESN'T work that twenty minutes out of my day just bought me the right to be a complaining fanboy. You do not have it yet.

I actually posted this on Toon Zone. I expect to be banned for it. :P
